Here is the company's shining star for Xtreme Street competition, a V24 Xi-trim blower mounted on a geardrive system. The NMCA officials allowed the use of geardrives for all centrifugal blowers in 2009. The Xtreme Street rules limit the centrifugal blowers to certain models and most blowers are from Vortech or ProCharger.  Fred Brunn pushed his '69... Veteran Xtreme Street racer,...  Veteran Xtreme Street racer, Tony Orts, bounces back and forth between a small-block 400ci Chevy and a big-block 525ci Chevy engine. The '68 Firebird had the 400ci engine between the framerails and a big nitrous bottle in the trunk. Orts qualified with an 8.11 at 170 mph, the highest mph for the small-block crowd. He lost in the quarterfinals on a red light to eventual event winner, Kurgan.  Aaron Stapleton's Xtreme Street...  Aaron Stapleton's Xtreme Street entry might have a Poncho outside but it is all Chevy under its skin. The engine was sourced from Steve Schmidt and boasts 525 ci with a Dart block. For induction, Stapleton added a single-stage fogger nitrous system, BMF 350 heads, and a Profiler intake with a Dominator carburetor. All told, the car has gone in the 7s in testing with a best of 8.0s in NMCA competition. Stapleton set high mph for the weekend with a 174 mph blast in the first round of eliminations.
