Legendary Chicago street racer Nick Scavo and partner Jeff D’Agastino hauled their flawless third-generation Camaro to St. Louis to battle it out at 200 mph in the Super Street 10.5 category. The car features a Fast Times Motorworks 540ci engine with two Precision 88mm turbochargers.

The car to watch in Super Street 10.5 appeared to be Tony Nesbitt as his crew chief Billy Adams had it tuned up to consistent 6.80s at 205 mph. Others were quicker but none were more consistent than Nesbitt—that was until Sunday’s eliminations when the 10.5W tires didn’t have enough traction for the nitrous-injected 737ci horsepower, courtesy of Nelson Competition Engines.

Tony “Sandman” Williams always entertains the crowd with his Pro Street Camaro. We dig the fact that Williams’ ’69 F-body is a legit car that was built into a Pro Street ride, unlike most of the other entries that are carbon-fiber replica bodies. Williams was runner-up with a 6.81 to Chris Rini’s winning 6.52 in the Pro Street category. CHP

We dig the ’72 Nova that John Warren brought to the Xtreme Street field. It wore a set of slapper bars, despite being allowed to run a racing four-link–style rear suspension. The Nova ran 8.17 at 172 mph thanks to a 523ci engine that is sprinkled with a single shot of nitrous oxide.
