1971 Chevy Cheyenne - Internet Gamble

Of course a Chevy engine powers this '71 short-wheelbase Cheyenne-an '86 Corvette engine with Brodix ST1 heads wears a chrome-plated Street & Performance TPI, including a serpentine pulley system. Inside is a COMP Cams High Energy camshaft. Headers are Dyna-Max Magna Flow mufflers attached to stainless steel tubes constructed by Hot Rods by Rohrer's in Burlington, KS.

A combination of leather and suede covers the '03 Chevy Silverado bucket seats, custom console, and interior panels, which were stitched by Frye's Upholstery in Burlington, KS. The custom console houses controls for the adjustable Air Ride Technologies suspension.

The fuel filler was craftily moved to the top of the bedrail.

The sound system includes a Kicker five-channel amp with 10-inch Comp VR Dual 4 and Kicker 6x9 speakers behind the seats. The mid-range speakers are 4-inch Kickers mounted in the doors.

A Mar-K oak plank bed floor with polished stainless steel runners upgrades the original steel floor.

The short-wheelbase chassis was smoothed and painted-then airbags and gas shocks were installed by Hot Rods by Rohrer's. The custom stainless steel fuel tank was removed from the cab and mounted between the rear framerails. The ventilated disc brakes are a Classic Performance Products upgrade with stainless steel brake lines.
