Littleton, CO Jim Kuhr's '65 Malibu SS is the real thing, he tells us, an official 138 car. Other than a Moon tach and a Hurst shifter, the white vinyl interior is stock. The rest of this ride isn't so original. This SS has a 10.5:1 406ci small-block, backed by an ever-popular built Turbo 350. To help the 3.73:1 12-bolt hook up, Jim's Mali is equipped with Hotchkis rear suspension components along with Lake-wood no-hop bars. Jim occasionally runs in a local Club Clash Series at Bandimere Speedway. His best time is a 13.29 at 102 mph, which he says has surprised a few late-model Corvettes. We're sure they'll be more Corvette surprising in store, Jim, if you make this season's goal of running 12s. Good luck!
