'66 Chevelle Ss 396
Dave Olmstead
Grand Rapids, MI
Dave Olmstead has always loved '66 Chevelles, and when he found this one for sale there was just one snag in the deal: The seller insisted his yellow Chevelle convertible go with a red '66 Chevelle as a package deal. With the help of his buddy Jerry Hallberg, they updated it by adding new sheetmetal, rebuilding the original 396 motor, and adding a pair of Edelbrock RPM heads and a thumping Comp Cams hydraulic-roller bumpstick with 0.547/0.547 inch lift and 230/236 degrees duration measured at 0.050 inch lift. To help keep the upper rpm in check at highway speeds, they also bolted in a Keisler five-speed.

Silver Bullet
'72 nova
Brian M. Miller
Peoria, AZ
Brian Miller's silver '72 Nova is sleek, stunning, and an awesome daily driver. Below the cowl hood lurks a modified 350 equipped with an Edelbrock Torker intake manifold, an Edelbrock Performer 650-cfm carburetor, Hooker Competition headers, and MSD ignition wires. Hotchkis components and Energy Suspension bushings provide a better ride, improved handling, and the right stance to show off the '02 Camaro SS 10-spoke wheels wrapped with Khumo Ecsta 711 tires. A TH350 trans and a B&M shift kit provide quick and positive gear changes. For safety's sake, Brian added a six-point rollcage inside the new interior.

'69 camaro ss 396
Paul MoOre
New Marshfield, OH
Paul Moore's '69 Camaro is a rare breed. Not only because it features the L78 396 engine option (less than 5,000 produced), but also because during the last 38 years it has clocked just over 15,000 miles on the odometer. The L78 396 engine option pumped out 375 hp with big rectangular-port cylinder heads, a high-lift mechanical camshaft, 11:1 forged pistons, and a Holley four-barrel carburetor. Both Paul and his young son, Connor, love the history behind this unusual car and on rare occasions can be seen burning through the four Muncie gears.
