Rodney Carter
Humboldt, TN
Although this '78 is Rodney's first restoration, his efforts have definitely produced stunning results. Once he had the body and interior completed, Rodney and his dad yanked the old small-block and added a stout 400 Mouse topped with Dart Iron Eagle heads, an aggressive Crane 238/246 cam, and an NOS nitrous system. Power transfers to the rearend via a Jim Clement-prepped TH350 and a TCI Super Street Fighter converter that spins the original 8.5-inch 10-bolt with a 3.90:1 cog. Since this F-body sees regular dragstrip duty, Rodney added a set of subframe connectors, three-way adjustable shocks, Lakewood traction bars, and Cragar Five Star rims on all four corners.

'78 Corvette
Larry Frazee
Evansville, IN
Larry Frazee's Corvette packs a powerful punch with a supercharged 350 that has been bored 0.040 inch over to yield 356 ci. Atop the Weiand 6-71 blower is a pair of 500-cfm Performer carburetors that delivers fuel and air into Performer RPM 64cc-chamber aluminum cylinder heads with 2.02-inch intake and 1.60-inch exhaust valves. Inside the small-block, Larry added blower-friendly Speed-Pro forged pistons yielding 9.76:1 compression, and a forged steel crankshaft. A full set of ARP fasteners keeps everything screwed together, and an MSD ignition and ACCEL Extreme 9000 wires deliver the spark.
