'84 Monte Carlo
After graduating high school, Mark was lucky enough to receive this '84 Monte as a gift from his grandmother. He kicked things off by installing a basic K&N air filter, and it escalated from there. Now the Monte cradles a Motown 427 small-block with a Comp Cams solid roller and an NX plate. A TH400 with a Hughes 3,500-stall converter handles gear changes while a Moser 9-inch with 4:10s sits out back. Mark claims he will never sell it and pulls it out every other weekend or so. We can see why-this Mighty Monte lays the smackdown, running 9.70s all day long at 140 mph on pump gas!
They say you'll never forget your first car-much like your first love-and we're grateful he didn't. Keith bought the car during high school and began restoring it after college. His '69 sports Detroit Engineering springs and a quick-ratio steering box with Wilwood brakes on all four corners. The 10.78:1 355ci makes 435 hp with the help of TRW forged domed pistons, a Scat crank, Eagle rods, and an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap. And the factory A/C from 1969? It still works!
When you use the best, good things happen. Brian's '67 is a prime example of how even the working man can drive a sweet ride. His Merlin 540 is stuffed with an Eagle crank and rods, SRP pistons, and AFR heads with Jesel shaft-mount rockers. A Moroso pump and pan control oil flow while the 1,050-cfm carb fuels the fire. Out back, a fortified 12-bolt with 4.11:1 cogs and Moser axles transfers the 700 hp and more than 640 lb-ft of torque to the wheels.

It took 11 years of blood, sweat, and tears to get this original six-banger into the blown (B&M) setup you see here. The 0.030-over 427 big-block was balanced and blueprinted. A Doug Herbert roller cam pushes solid roller lifters into Crower roller rockers with titanium retainers. Ported Brodix heads open stainless valves to allow air and fuel to meet the JE pistons. An aluminum radiator keeps the motor chill, and a 10-point 'cage keeps Joseph safe.
