The Finale
'70 ChevelleZach Cole
Jackson, GA
Zach has gone through four different engine combinations in his Chevelle and he's finally happy with the current 400ci small-block. Slugs of choice are Speed-Pro pistons with a set of AFR Eliminator heads, a Lunati Voodoo camshaft, and an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap topping it off. The MSD ignition lights the spark while a Turbo 400 takes care of shifting. Zach hasn't taken it to the track yet, but he's hoping to see low 12s with the proper tuning and traction.
Triple Threat
'65 ImpalaDave Delesko
St. Louis, MS
About nine years ago when Dave built his '65 Impala, he had three purposes in mind. He wanted to maintain its everyday driving ability, show it at events, and make some quick passes down the track. To do this, Dave had a 462-inch big-block built with an Edelbrock RPM intake and an 850-cfm Demon carburetor. His 350 Turbo transmission with a B&M Pro ratchet shifter spins to a set of 3.90:1 gears out back with an Eaton posi unit. At the track, the Impala has had a best run of 12.05 at 111.07 mph. It's great to see these big B-bodies running hard.
