When Chris Mickus was 16, he had his eyes set on a Camaro from his neighborhood. When it went up for sale, Mickus and his father jumped on it and bought it for a mere $1,500. Regretfully, time and different owners passed the car along. Years later on a visit back to his old neighborhood he spotted the aging Camaro, only this time it was in a friend's driveway. Just like a boomerang, it was back-this time for free! Chris grabbed a flatbed truck and began the restoring process. Mickus kept the stock special-performance-package high-nickel block but stroked it to 383 ci. He also kept the original 12-bolt and TH400 too. Best part? Mickus found a box where his father had stored all of the documents, including the original Protect-O-Plate, invoice, manual, and retail order form!
