Doug Smith's Chevelle saw plenty of quarter-mile action through the '80s and '90s but as of five years ago, his pride and joy went through a complete makeover. Since the bodywork and paint were already pristine, all that was left was suspension, wheels, and some modern components. The Chevelle runs happily with its 454 big-block and 700-R4 transmission that spins a 3.42:1 gearset with Moser axles out back. RideTech handles all of the suspension duties while Wilwood brings the 'Velle to a halt. Detroit Speed provides a front runner system as well as a steering box and battery box. Coys 18x8/20x10 front/rear wheels fill the wells.
