We get the opportunity to meet and see a lot of new muscle car enthusiasts. One such case is Derek Putnam who couldn't resist but to tell us all about his '72 Nova while at the LSX Shootout in Memphis, Tennessee. It turns out Putnam's owned the car now for 12 years and it's driven and bracket raced on a regular basis. His portly 3,600-pound Nova is powered by a pump gas 10.5:1 383 stroker, generating 425 hp at the tires and has run a best of 9.96 at 133 mph on a P275/60/R15 drag radial with 1.42 short-times. Very impressive!
