With a six-banger, A/C, and 64,000 miles on the clock, John Farino began a body-off restoration. Farino swapped out the engine for a bored 0.030-inch over two-bolt main 350 small-block. He plugged in a forged crank, Crower rods, and hypereutectic pistons. Cylinder heads are vintage iron double-humps using large 2.02/1.60-inch intake/exhaust valves with Comp springs, locks, and seals. A TH350 was installed with a 10-inch 3,400-stall converter and a set of Moser axles and Richmond 4.11s with an Auburn posi to help with hook at the track. Best time to date is 8.04 at 84.3 mph in the eighth-mile.
