No matter how you slice it, modern power in an older muscle car is just plain cool. In Kent Salmen's case, he yanked the original drivetrain in favor of a low-mileage 5.3L LS out of a 1/2-ton Silverado. He's even running the truck transmission, converter, and exhaust manifolds, but added a Corvette LS6 intake. Suspension and wheels are still factory. Kent upgraded the rear with a 3.73:1 gear set and posi unitto hold the new found power. Better yet, Kent claims to get thee time the fuel mileage!
