Back in 1995, Spencer Hawkins started replacing the driveline. First, the 700-R4 transmission was rebuilt. Then out back, the axles were swapped for a larger 33-spline set from Strange, as was a 12-bolt rearend with 3.42:1 cogs. Lastly, the engine was ditched for a custom-built 383ci small-block. The car currently has 103,000 miles on the clock and still cuts a respectable 13.6 at 103 mph on the factory rollers! This build is far from over, we can’t wait to see what Hawkins has next in line for this third-gen.
