The weights for mechanical advance pivot around two posts (A), while the small springs (B) help determine the rate of advance and pull the advance back as rpm decline. Add a lighter spring to one or both weights to quicken the advance curve. You can mix and match springs to come up with a curve that suits your application. View Related Article
