Confession time. This is the wire that attaches to the crank-position sensor located behind the starter. I managed to pinch it hard while attaching the wiring- harness ground wire to the heads. The engine would not start and the scanner indicated a failure to sense the crankshaft position. Bobby slid under the hood and found the damaged wire. A soldering gun and shrink-wrap soon had the wires reattached. The engine fired immediately.
