A-BODY LS-1 RETROFIT SYSTEM
Without a doubt, the LS1 is the coming of age for an early musclecar enthusiast. It's a trouble-free powerplant you can buy out of any mail-order catalog, and it makes incredible power right out of the box. For you A-body buffs, Edelbrock has taken notice and now offers a retrofit kit to drop an LS1 powerplant into your early Chevelle. Each kit includes a motor-mount conversion and a complete exhaust system. The pipes feature full-length headers manufactured of 409 stainless steel and primary tubes that are 13/4 stepped to 17/8. An X-pipe with mandrel bends keeps the flow unrestricted through two Edelbrock SDT 21/2-inch mufflers and two stainless steel tips. The motor mounts are constructed of 1/2-inch steel and coated with zinc for protection. It comes complete with Grade 8 hardware to boot.
