With every section covered,... With every section covered, we did a final pat-down with the roller to ensure complete adhesion to the sheetmetal. It's worth mentioning that we've heard of people doubling up on the materials; for some folks, weight might be an issue, but the Xtreme is pretty light and our entire job added less than 20 pounds. We also added the 1/2-inch-thick... We also added the 1/2-inch-thick Dynaliner to the floorboard for the rear and front footwell areas, including a few pieces toward the front of the trans tunnel. This single-layer, synthetic foam acts as an acoustic isolator, but is an effective material for thermal insulation and is also available in 1/8- and 1/4-inch thicknesses. Check out the new versus old.... Check out the new versus old. Inside the car we really didn't notice how bad it was, but side by side it's fairly obvious how disgusting the old carpet really was. When trimming the rear carpet... When trimming the rear carpet to fit, we thought we were pretty slick by initially overlaying the new carpet with the old and trying not only to match it but also to locate the seat mount holes. Take it from us, just lay the carpet in the car, take your time to find the holes, and use a punch to get the holes started. Up front, the fit was pretty... Up front, the fit was pretty close, but with the added Dynaliner we did have to trim a little off the front. Still, with the minor cuts made, the carpet laid perfectly near the doorsill section. It's the little things most... It's the little things most people don't notice that end up improving the total package. We ordered these N.O.S. GM sill plates from Year One. If you want to save a few bucks with reproduction pieces, those are also available under PN DS73RH and DS73LH. And if you're missing the screws or if yours are pretty tarnished, a complete kit of 12 is also available (PN A2710). Lastly, we cut the smallest... Lastly, we cut the smallest hole possible in the carpet for the shifter. We mounted the CMG-supplied Hurst rubber shift boot and ring trim by carefully forming the trim around the trans tunnel and screwing directly into the sheetmetal.
