Schwartz Chassis
Combining road-racing prowess and street-machine savvy, SEP has worked with circle-track chassis designer Kevin Laatsch to offer the ultimate street chassis for '64-72 Chevelles and '67-69 Camaros. Framerails are moved in slightly to give the owner the option of either using stock wheelwells or modifying them for up to a 14-inch-wide 345 rear tire with a mini-tub. The triangulated four-bar suspension eliminates suspension bind found in stock Chevelle chassis. No floorpan or body modifications are required to mount the chassis under the first-generation Camaro.

Air Ride suspension can be substituted for coilovers, both front and rear. The upper front coilover mount is strong and can serve to tie in to the rollcage. For hard-core track-day applications, optional braces tie the upper coilover mount to the body.

Schwartz Chassis
Bumpsteer commonly associated with the stock Chevelle's steering geometry is eliminated by building the chassis with the rack-and-pinion steering rod ends located on the same centerline as the location of the lower control-arm pivot point.

A side-by-side comparison of the stock GM A-body frame and Schwartz Precision Chassis is striking. Not surprisingly, the stock frame weighs 140 pounds more than the Schwartz piece. Another option is the ability to employ either single-rail or double-rail construction for the same price.
