Running leaf springs underneath the rearend instead of on top reduces axle windup, but most performance cars already utilize this arrangement. A much more effective solution is bolting a set of traction bars between the rearend and the leaf spring's front eye area. The leveraging effect helps drive the rear tires into the ground.
