If that's not enough, Isky has also been improving its valve-spring line, applying RAD-9000 technology to its Tool Room springs. This process option Radial-Desensification (or RAD) optimizes the properties of the springs for greater surface and core consistency, the idea being to create spring endurance. Each batch then gets a brutal Spintron test where it sees 9,000 rpm for more than 1,000 miles. It's a pass or fail benchmark, so the only ones you can buy have made the grade.

Isky's Red Zone lifters continue to be a hot seller. They utilize a proprietary bearing raceway rather than needle bearings. Isky says that these EZ-Roll bearings carry far greater loads and have a greater surface area for the distribution footprint. And though this piece is for a traditional Chevy, Isky is now making Red-Zone tie-bar-style lifters for LSx engines that see severe duty.
