The flow curves delivered by our 396’s hand-ported Dart heads can best be described as “fat.” Flow was not only outstanding at the top end, but throughout the entire curve. At 0.250-inch lift, the intake delivered 191 cfm compared to the 178-180 from a typical CNC-ported head. At anything over 0.530-inch the intake port was delivering in excess of 300 cfm. On the exhaust side, the flow hit the magic 200 cfm at just 0.420-inch lift. These are the sort of figures needed to satisfy the demands of a big stroker motor.
