Pump Up The Volume Part 1 -- Technical Article -- Chevy High Performance Magazine
|
This system may look sporty, but it's installed improperly. For starters, the generic auto parts store fuel filter is placed on the suction side of the pump. Secondly, the pump is installed above the tank. Lastly, the ground wire is only secured to the painted sheetmetal adjacent to the pump. Unfortunately, this owner more than likely assumes this setup is fine, solely based on the fact that the car starts and runs. To fix this, the fuel filter should be placed ahead of the pump along with a coarse filter before the pump and placed as low as possible. Also, a ground circuit traveling to the engine block should be used in conjunction with an improved body ground. View Related Article
