The Vortec Bow Tie (bottom) shares its heart-shaped 65cc fast-burn combustion chambers with truck-based Vortec 5700 heads (top) but comes standard with larger 2.00/1.55 valves versus the truck's 1.94/1.50. As shown here, the Bow Tie weighs 46.5 pounds versus 43.5 pounds for the truck Vortec. The Bow Tie's thicker decks account for the added mass. Despite the polished chambers and plenty of bowl-blending under the valve heads, the box stock Bow Tie trounced the Vortec 5700s. View Related Article
