This comparison demonstrates the nearly rectangular intake-port configuration of the new 206cc Bow Tie castings (top) versus the Vortec 5700's 170cc port volumes. GMPP conveniently machines the Bow Ties to accept traditional and Vortec intake-manifold bolt patterns. But remember, all Vortec intake ports are 0.080 inch taller than traditional Gen I small-block port openings, so be sure to select a Vortec-compatible manifold and gasket set.
