Before installing the new water pump, we gave it a clearcoat to protect the finish (available finishes: unpolished, PermaStar, polished, and EnduraShine).

While waiting for the paint to dry on the water pump, we went ahead and prepped the block for installation. It's always a good idea to cut through any painted finish down to the bare metal, where gaskets need to seal. This'll ensure a trouble-free installation and prevent any potential leaks.

The billet-aluminum crankshaft installation mirrors that of the stock pulleys. The kit includes three 31/48-inch socket bolts and the pulley, but you'll need to reuse the center crankshaft bolt and torque to the manufacturer's specifications.

To install the water pump, we lined up the upper holes through the gasket and secured the pump through the bottom two holes with the supplied bolts.

Both the A/C compressor (shown) and alternator main bracket attached to the top water-pump bolt and the cylinder head. Once again, we used the supplied bolts to secure it in place.

The alternator arm bracket attached with two low-head bolts that fit beautifully into the machined recess in the bracket.

Before mounting the alternator, the conventional fan and pulley had to be removed. Use care as you loosen the center bolt.

The Wide Kit includes a billet alternator fan, a pulley, and a pulley cover. The fan and pulley mounted in the same manner as factory. After tightening the center bolt, the O-ringed alternator-pulley cover popped in place with moderate pressure.

With the alternator mounted in place, we found it to be an incredibly strong setup. Mounting to the water pump and the cylinder head-and the quality of the material-provided for robust support.
