After the first plastic filler was added to the Malibu's door panel, it was allowed to dry for about 30 minutes. Next it was block-sanded with 36-grit sandpaper on a long board. The rule when sanding is the coarser the paper the straighter the panel. Be careful, though, because the sanding marks will need to be removed with finer sandpaper. The dark area above the board displays a low spot on the surface. On plastic parts such as front fascias or bumpers it's best to use 150-, 180-, or 240-grit. View Related Article
