To use a Gen V head on a MK IV block, this cylinder-head water passage must be entirely covered by a gasket made for this interchange. Our Fel-Pro 1017-1 head gaskets did the trick.  On some blocks, the water...  On some blocks, the water passage in question protrudes into the valley. Without the proper gasket, coolant leaks are the result. In this case, the block entirely covered the passage, so we were double covered.  Aerohead Racing delivers these...  Aerohead Racing delivers these heads with stainless, swirl-polished valves, hardened seats, and a nice three-angle valve job that actually opens up the exhaust-port throat a bit (according to JMS). We opted to have Aerohead install 71/416-inch ARP studs with Manley guideplates and upgrade our springs to accommodate our cam lift. It all added up to $1,115. We call it a steal, given our results.
