Second-Gen Camaro Frame Stub
If the number of new go-fast parts hitting the market is any indication, second-gen Camaros are increasing in popularity by the day. One of the lastest pieces is Fatman Fabrications' new front frame stub for '70-81 F-bodies and '75-79 Novas, a setup the maker says provides these vehicles with Pro Touring handling and style. This complete new subframe, which is fixture-welded from 0.188-inch rectangular-wall, 2x4- and 3x4-inch mild steel, provides vastly improved geometry with a 2-inch-narrower track width, allowing for wider tires within the confines of the stock fenderwells. This unit bolts into the unibody just like the original and is supplied with polished stainless steel tubular control arms (stock width or 1-inch-narrowed for additional tire clearance), dropped spindles with 11-inch disc brakes, a sway bar, and a steering hookup from the new rack-and-pinion to the original GM steering column. The upper control-arm shafts have a 31/416-inch offset built in, allowing a greater variety of alignment options. Either small- or big-blocks can be installed using any oil pan that fits the original chassis. According to Fatman, its new frame stub will provide increased tire and ground clearance, superior handling, and a much cleaner appearance. Options include coilovers, AirRide setups, and Wilwood brakes.

Comp's Thumpr Camshafts generate an aggressive exhaust note, thanks to a grind with early exhaust-valve opening, long exhaust duration, and a generous amount of overlap from a tighter, 107-degree LSA. The result is a rough-idling musclecar sound without sacrificing power output or streetability. Thumpr retrofit hydraulic roller camshafts are now available for '65-95, 396- to 454ci big-block Chevy engines that originally came equipped with flat-tappet lifters.

Upper Control Arms For A- And G-Bodies
Lakewood Industries now has not one, but two types of upper control arms available for '64-72 Chevelles and '78-87 Monte Carlos and Malibus. Lakewood's heavy-duty upper control arms are designed for racing with economy in mind. Engineered from heavy-duty steel boxed tubing, they feature Delrin bushings, steel sleeves, easy-to-reach grease fittings, and Grade-8 fasteners. According to Lakewood, these new arms eliminate wheelhop and improve traction by planting the tires when used with Lakewood's performance lower control arms. The adjustable upper control arms are also made to work with Lakewood's lower arms and are engineered from steel hex bar stock, also featuring Delrin bushings, steel sleeves, and easy-to-reach grease fittings.

Pro-Tuner Efi System For Small- And Big-Blocks
Put bluntly, Edelbrock says it now offers everything you need to build a custom fuel-injection system. The new Pro-Tuner EFI System provides enough options to cover just about any application. Edelbrock EFI Induction Kits are dyno-matched, with manifold and throttle body, to the Electronics Kits; Fuel Pump and Regulator Kits finish the package for the consistent fuel delivery crucial to proper EFI performance. There are two versions of the EFI Electronics Kit for small- and big-blocks: the Victor Series and the Super Victor Series. Both versions include a MotoTron ECU, which has three tuning strategies to choose from. Software, injectors, a distributor, an ignition amplifier, sensors, hardware, and a wiring harness are also included. Edelbrock's Pro-Tuner software is easy to use, yet it offers sophisticated tuning control with Windows 98-and-later operating systems, including Vista.

Black Magic S-Blade
Flex-a-lite's latest development is its custom-shrouded Black Magic S-Blade universal-fit electric fan, intended for vehicles with 16-inch-and-wider radiator cores. The S-Blade unit measures 18x16x411/44 inches, moves 3,000 cubic feet per minute, draws up to 19.5 amps, and, according to Flex-a-lite, dissipates more than 50 percent more heat than average 16-inch fans on the market. The Black Magic S-Blade's new blades also allow the fan to run quieter and more efficiently, while the ring fan provides better blade support for impact resistance and water crossings. CHP
