Crane's line of hydraulic roller lifters (PN 144535-16) is far superior to the factory pieces. For starters, Crane utilizes a CNC-machined billet steel body, for a much more rigid, stable, and dimensionally accurate piece. These also feature a "long-travel" design, to be used in conjunction with high-lift performance camshafts with up to 0.700-inch valve lift. Additionally, internal valving has been engineered to correctly meter oil at the pressures needed to prevent hydraulic lifter pump-up, and has proven to function reliably up to 7,000 rpm! Should you require solid roller lifters (PN 144510), Crane also offers them, but note that they should only be used in engines where the stock factory GM knock sensor has been either removed or disabled.
