Once the plate is removed, you'll probably face a seriously stuck metering plate gasket. Never attempt to scrape the gasket off with a putty knife or wire brush! Soak the area with a spray-on gasket remover, and in a couple of minutes, the gasket should be soft and easy to remove. View Related Article
