1. Turbo City's Tom Miller started off by plugging a scan tool into our '92 RS' computer system, assessing our new Vortec TBI 305's state of tune before making any modifications. Miller told us the Camaro was running "a little rich," but that it was also flat in the midrange.

2. Miller then switched his attention to replacing our stock TBI unit with his Super Flow piece. Before showing you the good stuff, though, here's a look at a stock throttle-body. The stock bore size is 111/16 inches each per side, and the restrictive ridge around each opening hinders airflow.

3. This is more like it. The bore size has been opened up to 113/16 inches per side (the max without cutting through the casting), and the exquisite machine work around the openings provides the least possible resistance to intake airflow. Look closely, and you'll see that Miller even uses round-head screws on the throttle shaft to let more air in.

4. On the flip side, we can see where Turbo City has drilled the throttle shaft bores and inserted bronze bushings as a hedge against leaks and to provide smoother throttle action (arrows). Also note that the portions of the shaft that lie within the throttle bores have been flattened, lessening airflow resistance even more.
