Since this engine was built to test cams, it has seen everything from small flat-tappet hydraulics up to some stout rollers. The shallow valve-relief notches cut in the Speed-Pro pistons prevented running a cam with over 0.0540-inch lift until they were enlarged to accommodate the big Comp Cams roller cam.
