If rapping on the nut with a hammer doesn’t break the ball joint loose, you can use a pickle fork to separate the ball joint from the spindle. Now remove the lower spindle nut and the shock absorber. The coil spring should be loose enough that you can drop the lower control arm down and completely disengage the spring from the upper and lower mounts. View Related Article
