Blower Basics
|
In the early days, blower companies remanufactured existing GMC cases, but now all the major companies like BDS, B&M, Weiand, and others cast their own cases. The 4-71 and 6-71 designations were originally used by GMC to identify a blower as sized for a six-cylinder diesel engine with 71 ci per cylinder, which works out to 426 ci. The later 8-, 10-, and 14-71 sizes have been adapted to indicate larger blower cases. View Related Article
