The 700-R4/4L60 (top) and the TH-400 can be interchanged using a tailshaft from a ’80-’82 Caprice or SS Impala to relocate the transmission mount. The 700-R4 uses a 0.70 overdrive and is longer than the TH-400, requiring a shortened driveshaft and a 27-spline slip-yolk. View Related Article
